Celebrating Six Months Of Marriage

I can't even believe I get to reminisce about being married to my best friend for six months now. My heart is so thankful. To celebrate in honor of our very first half a year mark, I wanted to share a few of the photos and stories to go along with them. Through out our engagement, marriage, and life after, each hold a special place in my heart.

These two photos, although not the best quality or the most beautiful, were taken right before Brandon asked my hand in marriage. What I assumed would be a casual Fourth of July at the beach, turned into so much more. Hugs exchanged and over joyous excitement of about five "are you really's?!", filled the night.

Did I mention the skyline wasn't such a bad sight either!? It might sound like an over exaggerated movie moment when I share the fact that, after I said yes, (finally) one last beautiful firework bursted in the air. I mean, talk about fairytale!

I'd be lying if I didn't say I shed a tear experiencing all these photos again, as my fingers glided across the screen of my iPhone Six. Even more, when I saw the combination of all three photos side by side one another.

The moment I never dreamed about, turned into a moment I will always dream of. From the very first dress that captured my heart, (photos left to right) to another that made me feel like a princess, and finally to the very yes I said to the perfect dress.

As most of my close friends might know, I'm not the most fun person to go shopping with. I like to blame the reason on a little disease I'd like to call indecisiveness. Although this, I know I would go on this shopping trip over and over again. It was one of the absolute, most humbling, and wonderful choices I've been exposed to thus far.

Each photo we capture has a story. This one is the tale of Brandon and I's first decision together as a newly engaged couple...a good one too!

Finding the most adorable, tucked away bakery in Richmond Vermont, was the icing on the cake (definitely pun intended). The delicious smelling atmosphere, kindness of the service, and giggles over how sour the lemon curd was, is another reason I didn't want to miss the opportunity to share this story. The only bakery Brandon and I ever visited to sample cakes, turned out to be a simple task to check off the wedding to-do list.

Couples who know how to agree on flavors, can conquer the world, am I right?

Life after the wedding is nothing more than a true blessing. Let's face it, of course it's not a picture perfect morning every day we wake, but it's what we chose to make it. We're still learning about one another. And yes, even after six and a half years together.

Marriage grows us, challenges us, makes us laugh, strengthens our character, and draws us closer together, as we draw closer to God. I wouldn't have it any other way either.

Happy six months Brandon Matthew. And many more.
